KOLOB

Boys are funny. We were going to the creek to throw rocks in the water and it was a little bit of a walk to get there. We are in the mountains. There are rocks everywhere, but did my Brenten wait and get rocks at the creek? Nope. He had to pick out rocks along the way and was constantly stopping to pick them up as one would drop every couple of steps.

i love that Cait will sleep anywhere still. I hope we will always be so fortunate. she was awesome the whole trip.

Our friends the Christensen's came to Kolob with us and we all had a lot of fun. christian got styrofoam airplanes for the kids. I think the Dads had fun with them too.
Christian and little Landon acting silly. Kolob is so beautiful. It is a little above Zions and Christian's parents have a cabin there. There is no electricity but we do have propane so we have hot water and an oven and a stove. And our water is fresh spring water. So yummy. We always take way too much food (usually junk food) and always have a blast.

MRSA

Some people asked what MRSA is. It is a staph infection that manifests itself on the skin, looking like a bug bite at first and then can get really red, hot and swollen. Most people confuse it with a bug bite. Like any infection it can get into the blood stream. Since he had pneumonia such a short while ago that could cause it to be harder to fight. Landon was lucky and his body fought it off. However, MRSA is resistant to a lot of the antibiotics so it makes it a little harder to treat.

4 months old/ MRSA

We went to Cait's 4 month well check and we found out she is well. She looks great. And is doing fabulous. She just has dry skin, which doesn't surprise me because my boys do too. She is 14.5lbs and is embracing all her rolls. Yesterday we tried rice cereal for the first time and she loved it. About 1/2 way through she was really getting the hang of it. Don't get me wrong she made a mess of everything near her but it was fun.

While at the doctors I had them look at Landon's hand. A couple of days ago he looked like he had a bug bite and it was swollen. Then I picked him up from the gym day care and it was triple in size, bright red, and HOT. I have been giving him benedril and the redness and heat is going away but it is still swollen. The doc said it is MRSA and luckily his body seems to be fighting it so great for him but if it doesn't get better or if it gets any worse then we need to get him back in right away. Christian had MRSA when we were first married and he was hospitalized for 3 days and it got so bad. The doc said that there have been quite a few reported cases in our area and the common comment is that they think it is a spider bite.

Pony Express Days

Cait slept through almost the whole day. Saturday started with walking down to the parade and then continued at the carnival. We had a great time and I left with a painful sunburn.
Brenten and Christian on Brenten's first ride. This was his first year on the "big" rides. And he was content to do them by himself.
Landon was a little more nervous but after forcing him on a ride he was good to go after that.

My awesome family. I love to hang out with them. they make it so easy to do fun things. And we love our small town and the fun summer events they have.

Cait is almost 4 months and she is really changing a ton. Today she rolled over for the first time. She rolls to her side all the time. She loves to play with toys. Landon doesn't know what to do because she loves his dinosaur toy the most. He tries to tell her it is special. I don't know what I am going to do when she can protest it a little bit.

Cait no longer gives Christian the best smiles. He was a little shocked when I broke the news to him. But she now thinks she is the coolest. Anytime we go by a mirror she jabbers, smiles, waves her arms and kicks her legs like crazy. I love it.
