7 weeks old

Baby Cait is already 7 weeks. I took pictures of this outfit a few weeks ago and it was huge on her and now I have to do the second buttons on the top and the legs are getting shorter and it is getting harder to snap up the crotch of the pants. I want to put her in her 3-6 month clothes, but I am trying to make myself wait a few more weeks so that we get the most use out of her cute 0-3 month clothes. Besides she isn't even two months yet.

She likes it!!!!

This post is for my Mom. With both Brenten and Landon she gave them suckers and they loved it. and I am pretty sure I freaked out a tiny bit and she would reply with but they like it. So this is to show my Mom that maybe i relaxed a little bit and am keeping up the tradition of my kids getting their first tast of sucker at 6 weeks.

Twins

My little sister is 18/19 weeks pregnant and just found out they are having twins. A boy and a girl. They are all of a sudden a little over whelmed and are realizing how much extra stuff they will be needing. If any of my readers or readers' friends have any baby stuff they are looking to get rid of please think of her. I will be making trips to visit and would love to take her some much needed baby items. She already has a boy so she if fairly set there. Now she is trying to plan for two.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is the best product out there. It is great for canker sores. But it is also a great cleaning product. Dab it on a white cloth and dab on blood stains on the shirt and then use cold water as well. I had to do it like three times and just started pouring the peroxide on it. When I was a trainer I had a basketball player who got a gusher of a bloody nose and he couldn't play until he was blood free on his jersey. I got it all out within a matter of minutes. It was great. The key is...once you put the shirt in the dryer the peroxide won't work anymore. so get it before you wash it.

Bloody Landon

Isn't he so cute? Even with all the blood. And yes, that is all blood, not chocolate. Poor little guy. On Saturday he was running down the sidewalk with hands in his pockets. If you ask him he had no choice but to keep his hands in his pockets. He had cars in there and he didn't want them to fall out when he ran. Well, before we knew it he was doing a penguin slide chin first on the sidewalk. He said he was fine and then I looked at him and there was blood every where. This picture was after I cleaned him up a bit. It was all chunky and gross. It bled for the rest of the day but there was nothing to stitch it was all scraped off. He also skinned his nose, shins, knees and the back of his wrists. He thinks it is so cool when people see it.

My proud moment....I got all the blood out of his shirt and it now looks brand new. I was so proud of myself. I should take a picture and display it. That is my athletic training education in action there.

6 Weeks old.

Baby Cait and her favorite guy.
Her half smile from the binki game
I love that she is still so snuggly.
She loves laying on me. I hear it is because they can hear your heartbeat.
Christian playing games with Cait.
Cait is 6 weeks old. I still can't believe how fast she is growing. One fun thing is that she is definitely smiling because of us now. She loves to watch the boys and she already has Christian wrapped around her tiny chubby fingers. She will watch Christian for so long and if he moves behind me she will try to look around me to find him. She also thinks it is funny when Christian pretends to put her binki in her nose. She will smile every time. Of course I wasn't fast enough with the camera but I did get a picture of a half smile. Usually she gets the biggest smile going. So fun. And I love that Christian gets the biggest smiles out of her. I get little ones and every once in a while a really good one but he can get one every time. I guess that means he is going to have to be the one to take her in for pictures. (he hates going when I do picts of the kids)

Working out!!!

Last Saturday I went running. It was only 2 miles and I walk probably 1/2 of it. And the running was slightly ridiculous. My butt giggled after every step. Yuk!!! I felt like I looked like Pheobe running, except mine wasn't for fun it was just a bunch of flailing about. Then I went Monday and I did much better. But still I don't consider it running. Next week Cait will be 6 weeks old and I think I am going to try to go to the gym a couple of times. I know I need to lose 12lbs to get to pre-baby weight but I need to lose about 20lb to get to pre-Landon baby weight. That is going to be my goal. I don't think I am going to worry too much about it for a few more weeks though. Just start working out a little bit and get a little more consistent. And then I am hoping I can figure out my eating but I am starving far more nursing than I was when I was pregnant.
We have had so many nice days so we have gone to the park
Played some ball. Landon is a lefty and we can't find a glove to fit him so he uses Brenten's old one on the wrong hand.
Cait's hair is getting more and more red. You can especially tell in the sun.
My cute baby Cait
Landon had to go outside if he wanted his sucker so he went out and stood in the yard in the same spot for 15 minutes. He didn't move at all. I didn't think it was possible of my 2 year old.

5 weeks

My baby is getting so big. Monday we had to take her to the doc because she seemed to have thrush and a yeast infection on her bum. Well both are yeast but I figure more people know what thrush is. Anyway, with Landon we had such a problem with it. We called it bleeding buttitis because his would get so bad. So this time at least I knew what to look for and got her in early. I don't think any of it bugs her at all. The doc got us a couple of prescriptions and weighed her. She is already 10lb 8 oz. She doesn't even look like the same baby at all.

I am not one to try concoctions but I have had two in the last month from this same pharmacy. The first was a lanolin type stuff for nursing but it was so much better. The pharmacist makes it all kinds of good stuff in it. It was fantastic. So much better than anything I have ever used in the past. The second is this bum cream for Cait. Her yeast infection/diaper rash was gone over night. It was wonderful. Now we just have the thrush to worry about.

Uncle Phillip finally held baby Cait on Sunday when he and Paula came down for dinner.
Puzzles and kid knex. It can make quite the mess in my living room but if I can tolerate it the boys can be happy for more than an hour.
Cute baby Cait at 4 weeks.
Finally some nice weather. We love it and can't wait for consistent spring weather.

Boys vs Girls

So some of my friends have been asking what is the difference between having a girl and boys. I can say the differences but then I don't know if it is strictly because of a difference of gender or if there is some other variable like birth order. But there are some definite differences with my kids. It was a lot harder than I thought getting used to the idea of saying kids instead of the boys, and using the pronoun her opposed to him. But that is me, not the kids.

1. During the night feedings my boys would go to sleep right after eating and would be fine. Cait likes to snuggle sometimes for way too long and if she falls asleep eating she WILL wake up in 10 minutes to want to get her snuggle time in. Don't get me wrong I love a good snuggle but I would rather postpone it from 2 am to maybe 2 pm.

2. The peeing....okay everyone says that boys are hard because they pee all over and you never know where it is going to go. (shooting pee) that is true. But with girls, it is like a sneak attack. I turn to grab just one more wipe (I know huge mistake on my part.) and continue to change her and then all of a sudden I realize everything is wet. She has peed everywhere.

3. She is so peaceful. Awake or asleep during the day there seems to be a more relaxing quality about Cait. Don't get me wrong, she cries and wiggles and loves to look around but overall she is far more peaceful. It love it.

4. Girls have far cuter clothes and a lot more to choose from. And from birth, they already have must have fashion accessories. Bows, bracelets, head bands, tights, hats. I am really embracing all the girly-ness. Christian just shakes his head at me.

That is all I can think of right now but she is only 4 weeks old. I will have to add to my list as time goes on.

Cait is already 1 month old!!!

I can't believe a month has already passed since Caitlin was born. I have to say this month went a lot faster than the last month I was pregnant. I really want to know how much she weighs. She is getting so chubby. I had picts taken of her but I am having trouble uploading them. We are getting her to sleep a little better at night. At least I am not doing the every 2 hour thing anymore. (knock on wood) She is awake a lot more during the day. I rarely have to wake her to eat and if I do it is easy to wake her now. I have talked to the day care at the gym and they said they will take her anytime and there is no extra cost. Both are nice but I am not quite ready to take her in there. I will re think the idea in a few weeks. She is so sweet and is getting so strong. She is starting to hold her head up really good.

PS- Sometime today I will become a GREAT AUNT. Does that make me old or what? I told my sister she is going to gain 10 years in one day now that she will be a Grandma.

3 weeks old

Cait is 3 weeks old today and she is still doing great. We are noticing some fun new things. She is starting to be awake more during the day and is starting to be so alert. She really focuses on whoever is talking to her. The boys absolutely love that she actually looks at them and they can get her attention. She will track items too...if she is interested in them. She loves to look around the room and loves the lights from the tv. Some nights she sleeps really good like 5 hours at a time but then there are other nights where she thinks she is starving to death and is up every two hours and would prefer I hold her while she sleeps. Hopefully she will be doing better consistantly soon. She is so sweet and peaceful most of the time. We love having her here.
